This is 34! 🥳🙌

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching this year. Learning more about myself and unlearning the things that no longer serve me. Like societies standards of beauty and normalcy.

I would have never in a million years worn a crop top or shown my stomach. I believed that because I wasn’t a certain size or didn’t have a flat stomach, I couldn’t wear it.

Those were lies! 🤦🏼‍♀️ If you have a body, ANY body- you can wear whatever makes you happy!

The secret🤫: Don’t give AF what anyone thinks. It’s easier said than done, I know. But here’s the thing… If someone has a problem with you showing your stomach or wearing something that breaks gender norms, that’s a reflection of them and not of you! 🔍 You know who you are and what makes you happy. You’ve already done the work. It’s up to them to search their heart to figure out why that triggers them.

3 times this week I’ve worn a crop top… and I even went out in public! Instead of feeling shame about my body, I felt hella empowered. 🙌💪 I challenge you do/wear something that makes you feel empowered this week! If you’re feeling shy - DM me. I’ll hype you up babe! 🔥🤩💃

Hi friends! I apologize for my abrupt disappearance from social media. As a business owner, it was probably not the smartest move. As an overwhelmed human and mother, it was necessary.

My sweet baby girl got second degree burns on her hand 😭
She needed lots of extra help and snuggles to get through the day. And as you can imagine, keeping bandages clean and dry on the hands of a busy toddler was a CHALLENGE!🥴 Bandages have recently come off and everything is looking and healing great. 🙌

It’s given me lots of time for reflection. I am often consumed by my work, taking a project with me everywhere and constantly thinking about what’s next. Whenever I have a design idea - it always feels urgent, like I need to complete it RIGHT NOW, and in the shortest time possible. 🤯 The forced slow down was actually a blessing in disguise. It allowed me to live in the moment and offered more quality time with E (which I’ve since learned is one of her love languages). ☺️

Moving forward, I know I need to find a better balance between work, self care, and motherhood. Please bare with me as I get it sorted! If you have any tips, I’m open to suggestions! ♥️

Sage is a great way to cleanse negative energies f

Sage is a great way to cleanse negative energies from your space. It’s important to know - using sage smoke to cleanse should NOT be called smudging. ✍️

Smudging is a ceremonial purifying ritual in many Indigenous cultures and should never be taken lightly. In North America it was illegal for Indigenous people to practice their religion until 1978. And in many cases, they are still fighting to be able to perform their religious rituals.
.
When non-Native people “smudge” their homes, it minimizes the cultural importance of the ritual. Here are many ways that you can cleanse your space that are culturally appropriate:

1. Smoke is great if you can handle it. Most often you will see white sage bundles for sale. But please be aware that white sage is endangered and is currently being over harvested by non-Natives. If you want to use white sage, make sure to purchase from an Indigenous owned store, or a store that supports their cultures. However, it does not NEED to be be white sage to cleanse your space. You can use regular garden sage! Some others you can use are; Rosemary, pines, cedar, juniper, lemon balm, and even mints!🌿🌲
2. Sound vibration. You can use a fancy singing bowl, chimes, or bells... however my favourite (budget friendly) way just a plain old pot and spoon! 🥁
3. Light. Open those curtains and windows! Let’s the fresh air and Sunshine in! ☀️
4. Crystals. Black Tourmaline, Amber, Blue Calcite, Ruby, and Amethyst are just a few. Do a little research and see what you like/what you need.✨
5. Your mind. For real. You are powerful! Set the intention either in your mind or out loud. Cuss words are optional.🤘🏻

@topknotcrochet was excited but nervous to try her first tapestry crochet test. It takes lots of practice to get the tension juuuust right and it can be down right frustrating when it’s not working out! 🙇‍♀️
