Gift Wrapped Square – Hope in the Holidays CAL – Free Crochet Pattern

Photo & Stitching Credit: Classy Lady Yarnworks
Due to mail delay, I did not receive my yarn in time to make my square. Stephanie saved the day by offering to stitch and photograph my design!

All wrapped up with a neat little bow. This gift wrapped square is my addition to the Hope in the Holidays CAL. What’s a CAL? CAL is short for Crochet – A – Long. From December 2nd until January 1st a designer will be releasing an 8×8 inch square with their own personalized design! All these squares can be combined together to create a blanket. You can use all of them, or a combination of your favorites to create an amazing heirloom.

I’m so excited – On December 13, 2020, you can download this pattern as a free PDF on Ravelry through the Hope in the Holidays CAL hosted by my friend Claire. First, head to the Bear Rye Blog to get the coupon code by clicking the link below. Then, come back to here to get the link to the pattern. The free PDF will only be available for 24 hours starting at midnight EST on the 13th.

Border & Blocking

[CC]: CH1, 1/4 turn so that you are working down the left side – *1SC in each row, (SC, CH1, SC) in corner, 1SC in each ST*. Repeat until you’ve reached starting point. 1SC in CH1 space, SLST to next ST. Tie off. Weave ends.

Wet block work by misting with water on both sides until damp, then use pins to shape.

Shape until it measures approx 8 x 8 inches.

Leave until dry. You can speed up the process if you have a little fan to run beside it.

Make sure to tag @jadedcraftscreations on Instagram or Facebook so I can see your beautiful work!

Stay cozy!

  1. Good morning! I’m here for the Hope in the HOLIDAYS CAL. I love the way your square looks and can’t wait to make mine. When I tried to get it from Ravelry it said that there is a problem with the coupon code “Gift”. Can you please take care of this. Happy Holidays. ~ Kim Carey

    1. Hi Kim!

Thank you so much for you kind comments about my design. I’m sorry the code was not working when you tried to download it. The issue has been resolved.

  2. Code of GIFT not working. (Tried is multiple times over a few hours.) It is such a beautiful, simple yet elegant design. Thank you. I’m excited to get the pattern.
